It Lives Again

Updated: Jun 9, 2024

Howdy! After starting this company in 2020, I took a detour. It took a while, but we here. I've still been working and learning in 3D/CAD since then. I had recently made a full sheet metal cup holder for my new-to-me Suzuki Carry, and that exercise of creating something tangible was pretty sick.

That niche cup holder got a bit more attention and positive feedback than I expected, with people expressing interest in buying one. I recently got around to getting a 3D-printer, and I've been tinkering with creating something I could provide both for people just wanting something out of a box, and for people that would want to print something themselves. That birthed the current design. A sheet metal/printed hybrid. In an unforeseen circumstance of happening to have some test-prints of the cup holder parts sitting on my desk, I struck a conversation with a guy at work. Showing him some of my general 3D work, I'd shown him a render of a Springfield Armory SA-35 I had made an ammo box prop for.

He asked, "Can you make that?" So I did. That birthed the Gen1 PISTOL ammo box. He's expressed interest from local shops in them, and they were allegedly a big hit on a recent range day. So here we are!

I'm currently preparing product pages for three different items: US Flag Skeletonized 50-Round Ammo Box Gen1 PISTOL, Suzuki Carry DD51T Cup Holder Assembly, and Suzuki Carry DD51T Bed Caps; as well as corresponding pages for the printable STLs for them. In no particular order, here is the current roadmap:

  • Design a Gen2 PISTOL to fit up to .45ACP.

  • Design a Gen1 RIFLE box to fit most rifle length rounds. Probably 60 count.

  • Design a discreet carrying platform for boxes.

  • Explore a printable bracket for the DD51T Cup Holder. Currently too large to plate in one piece on my print bed, but with some reinforcement, you could probably get similar strength as the metal bracket.

  • One commission for a gift ammo box.
